Dinner @ Din Tai Fung @ eCurve

Our first time trying out the place. Din Tai Fung is known for its delectable Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings) that comes in a few variety and Ramen.

We ordered the following, more like... over-ordered:

1) 8-piece Original Xiao Long Bao

2) 6-piece Crab Xiao Long Bao- Being allergic to crab meat, I left this all to Heart*

3) Cha-jiang Ramen- Dry noodles with minced pork meat, green beans, and some other condiments. Salty. Mediocre.

4) Pork chop fried rice- The pork chop was nice and juicy, but the fried rice was extremely mediocre. Lacks the Wok hei I crave from fried rice.

5) Clear chicken soup Ramen- Boy, they weren't kidding by making it clear. The soup was bland, and the boiled chicken... dry.

Item 1, 3 and 4 are their Signature dishes, but only Item 1 stands out, and admittedly, nothing to scream about either.

Total bill came up to about MYR 88 for 2 person. Really damaging for such a mediocre fair. I dare say I get MUCH MORE satisfaction from Kim Gary's dishes, and they cost a lot less too.

2/5. Would I come back? I don't see any reason why.
