Singapore Curry Laksa @ EAT Cafe (Paradigm Mall) on a Friday Night (12th July 2013)

UPDATE 3rd November 2013- EATZ cafe has closed down due to poor business sales.

Being TGIF, and a rainy evening, we decided to head to a nearby mall for dinner.

The last time we visited EAT cafe @ Paradigm mall for some Singaporean noodle dishes, the Singapore Curry Laksa certainly caught our attention, and we vowed another visit, and that day happened.

Singapore Curry Laksa @ MYR 8.9. The soup was thick and it's got a lot of dried shrimp in the broth. With a generous serving of noodles and condiments (Bean sprout, fish cakes, oysters, and other assorted yong tau foo), it was a filler.

Our side dish, pork cocktail sausages from Bee Cheng Hiang, few doors away. Didn't quite like them. The original bak kua is the best. MYR 15 for a pack of 7.

Overall the Singapore Curry Laksa was good. A tad salty and oily, but not bad. 3/5.

Dry Minced Meat U-Noodles @ EAT Cafe (Paradigm Mall)- Non-Halal

It was after gym, and we were running against time to catch a movie (Monsters University), so our options were thin.

Our initial thought was to grab some buns to appease the growing hunger within, as we walked pass the LG floor, Heart* proposed that we try out this place.

Interestingly, we have been to Paradigm mall so often but EAT cafe seems to never have crossed our thoughts, and since we we still had a little time to kill before the movie, we decided to give it a go.

Both Heart* and I ordered the Dry minced meat U-noodles (Very peculiar name I know), but the dish turned out quite... nice. An interesting hint of sourness (From the vinegar) to it. MYR 8.9.
The place serves a lot of fishball based noodles, as well as Singapore Laksa, and the next thing that came to my mind was that the whole franchise could have originated from Singapore itself. That assessment is yet to be confirmed. ;-P

Overall, ok stuff. 3/5.

In my opinion they seem quite calculative with the condiments (Measuring the amount of minced meat per bowl in... get this... pastry paper cups -.-"), but the taste is just so different from what I am accustomed too, it's totally unique and fresh, and warrants a second visit.
