In celebration of a close friend's birthday, we set a dinner gathering at My Elephant (Section 17 branch) last Saturday. At 7.30pm, the place was crowded as expected. First thing I noticed was that the place was really warm and stuffy. It spoiled my mood just a tad.
The waitress approached me with the helium balloons a friend dropped off earlier, and I hid them under our tiny table.
Was joined by the remaining guests (birthday gal too) 15 minutes later and we started ordering. Sprung up the balloons from underneath to surprise birthday gal before.
The place. When the pic was taken, crowd has subsided. |
Curry Duck. Portion is small, and pricey. Tasted good though. 4/5. |
Sour basil leaf soup with fish (Comes with chicken too if you so choose). 4/5. |
Top Left: My Elephant signature Fried Chicken. Very good. 4/5. Top Right: Songtam (Sorry for the badly taken pic), it was so-so. 3/5. |
Thai milk tea. Bland and overly sweet. Terrible 1/5. Better off with 'Ying Yong' from establishments like Wong Kok or Kim Gary. The tea tastes more fragrant there. |
Spent some hours here and it was fun catching up with close friends. The food was good, but I simply didn't like how warm and badly ventilated the place was. They should really do something about it, but I doubt so as the place is as it is since... years. Aman Suria branch could be better I reckon.
Overall 3/5. We headed to Vintry @ Jaya 33 for some wine after that and more catching up.
