Bangkok 2008 Day 0 & 1
Oh My God... I had a rush getting here. Thanks mom & dad for helping me out. A LOT.
The day before I traveled to Thailand, there were some complications with my flight tickets. and I found out only very late at night. Apparently my flight ticket was canceled because I didn't confirm the itenary.
Mistake on my part, I couldn't distinguish if that was just the intenary or an e-ticket. The details shown on the statement certainly qualifies as the latter, or so I thought. Anyway, thank God I've gotten it sorted out the next day and I got to fly at 6pm.
I reached Suvarnabhumi airport at approximately 7pm (8pm Malaysia time). Admittedly I was superbly nervous, travelling alone for real and all. I passed through the exact same immigration check point and it got me thinking way back about last year, where the gang was there, fun times.
Wasn't sure what transportation to take... I was dead tired and desperate to crash, due to only having less than 5 hour wink previous night interjected with all sort of worries. Finally decided to get the cab outside which thank God only cost me only 480 baht (80 baht for the toll, forgotten i had to pay up front).
Reached the suite/apartment approximately an hour later or was it 40 minutes? The place is called Bally's studios suites, located just on the far end of Sukhumvit Soy 20, issit near the place we guys used to have that massage? I can't quite recall. On the way I recalled passing through the Nana BTS (LRT equivalent) station and the street where we stayed (Sukhumvit Soy 11). Throughout the journey I was trying to yap in Thai on a word-by-word basis with a handy phrase book in hand. lol. It was hilarious, all came out very disastrous, but I got corrected by the driver often. It's pretty nice to be able to chat in Thai with a local, the words do sink into the brain and you tend to remember better.
The suite was coowl. It's like a normal 3.5 star hotel but with additional square feet to fit a larger bathroom, a kitchen sink, microwave, and a fridge. They even have a DVD player.
Well, nothing much else. Will be doing some groceries shopping today. Soap powder, slippers, shoe deodorant (for my infamous hong kong feet lol), adapter, etc etc...
