Bangkok 2008 Day 95- Bayoke Sky Hotel (The Tallest Hotel in Bangkok)

On Sunday night, decided to have a bird eye's view of the entire City, as well as to satisfy that insatiable hunger.

It was off to Bayoke Sky Hotel! Located very near Central World shopping mall!

Taken this picture on my way home from work. I found this scene very interesting because as you can see, it's raining hard in one part of the city, and it was slightly clear the other side. Rarely get to see something like that in my life.

Behold! Bayoke Sky Hotel from the distance.

Up close.

The street where Bayoke Sky Hotel is situated, is always busy. There is a rather old shopping complex just opposite of the hotel.

Tourist buses parking at the side of the hotel.

The lobby located on the 8th Floor. If not mistaken, the other floors cater for a multi story car park.

Lobby scene.

View from the 8th floor.

The ticket counter where we bought tickets for the buffet dinner as well as access to the revolving deck.

Cafeteria in the lobby.

The ticket cost me 950 baht. Pretty pricey. Covers revolving deck and the buffet restaurant.

All the way up to 77th Floor. I noticed that the hotel has many lifts! 6 lifts traveling from lobby right to the upper floors, 4 lifts covering from lobby to the below floors (Parking, ground level)

View from the 76th floor (Where the restaurant is located). Just next to my dinner table.

The restaurant serves mostly japanese cuisine. But they do cover some western/italian delicacies as well as one particular dish farmilar to Malaysians.

Entertainment of the evening, guys using kitchen utensils as percussion instruments.

This is actually a pasta stall. They cook the pasta fresh for patrons.

Salad bar.

Yes, this is the Malaysian dish I was talking about. It's something like mutabbak.

The chef was kind enough to let me take a snap of her creation up closed.

Famous char keoy tiow, but here it's called Pad Thai.

Sushi bar.

Dessert bar.

Liquor bar. Whether free flow or not I'm not sure. But I doubt it. >.<

I was having very bad indigestion after dinner. I didn't eat a lot to be honest. But I am suspecting it's the roast beef causing it. I suffered the entire night and the very next day.

On the 77th floor there are many factual information about the hotel as well as Thai culture from early years. But I was far too distracted by the indigestion to take note of them. I did however spent 10 baht peeping through the telescope hoping to be able to locate the service apartment I stayed in. Got kinda lost. The only way point I recognized is where a billboard of 'Cleavage on demand' is located. >.< =P

It's up to the 83rd floor. Where the revolving deck resides.

It was mighty windy up there and I likey a lot. But the air was very warm that night and kinda stuffy. Guess to get fresher/cooler air one needs to climb higher from that point.

That's about it. It was fun, but the indigestion got to me the next day. I couldn't concentrate in work.
